Every family needs pure water at all times for their basic household use. For Mr. Maina’s family, the salty water they were getting from the borehole was a constant problem that needed to be sorted out once and for all. The amount of money they used to buy bottled drinking water from the nearby supermarket every week was becoming an expensive affair. Epicenter Africa came in and installed the Reverse Osmosis (R.O) system for them which enabled them to get clean and purified water right from the kitchen tap. This cost effective solutions dropped their expenses as they no longer had to buy bottled water.

A World Health Organization (WHO) study shows that water and poor sanitation are linked to transmission of diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid and polio. Absent, inadequate, or inappropriately managed water and sanitation services expose individuals to preventable health risks.

Another contamination in water is excess levels of salts in water. Whenever the levels of various salts content is water is higher than recommended, we get undesired taste and even health effects on us. The salts could be Fluorides, Calcium, Iron, Arsenic etc. One of the main contaminants in Nairobi is excess Fluorides levels in water causing browning of teeth and fluorosis in children (weakening their bones).Treating drinking water is very important because, it helps remove contaminants that are harmful to our health and those that make the water look, smell and taste bad. By treating the water we drink in our households, hotel and industries such as water bottling plants, we can keep these diseases away.

Water treatment is any process that makes water more acceptable for a specific end-use. The end use may be drinking, industrial water supply, irrigation, river flow maintenance, water recreation or many other uses, including being safely returned to the environment. In our homes, our children are more likely to drink tap water. By treating the water, we keep them safe. In the hotel industry, it is very important to treat the water because it is used for both cooking and drinking and if not treated could cause illness to a huge population. We are working with real estate developers who understand the importance of clean water to families to install under sink RO systems in each unit.

One can notice a huge difference when the installation is done and the system starts functioning. The water becomes safer to drink and cook and does not affect the taste of food.

Our Reverse Osmosis system provides the finest filtration process available. It works by passing excess salts in the water through a semi-permeable membrane. The 6 stage purifier removes dissolved salts like fluorides, nitrates, hardness and eliminates all contaminants through reverse osmosis technology providing pure drinking water and all this happens right under your sink.

When you get a reverse Osmosis system, the treated water tastes much better after all impurities are removed and you will find your family drinking more water as compared to other drinks like juices and soda to quench their thirst.

Other methods of water treatment technologies available are;

  • Filtration systems
  • UV light treatment
  • Chlorination
  • Reverse Osmosis
  • Ultrafiltration
  • Softeners etc

Purified water equals to a healthier family.
